Healing My Gut: What I Eat

I make a big batch of soup every two days or so, because if I haven't emphasized enough, I am undergoing a major digestive healing protocol. My soups almost always contain carrots and chicken thighs with the skin on and bone-in, that I let simmer alongside any variety of vegetables that floats my boat for that day: celery and leek, peas and turnip, broccoli and parsley. Right now I am still at the relatively early stages of a combination of the SCD, GAPS and AIP diets; diets that are designed to give your system a much needed break while supporting the healing of the intestinal lining to improve absorption, seal leaky gut, and reduce overgrowth of bad bacteria.

___

Since I developed post-infectious IBS and a number of food intolerances after my C. Diff infection in 2011, I've always made a note in my mind to try my best to avoid grains, legumes, refined sugar, and dairy, because I feel worse if I consume too much of those things. However, even as a nutritionist with the knowledge I have, it hasn't always been easy, or at least, I haven't always been strict enough about it. Not that I was eating unhealthily, I was just eating the wrong foods for me. It really wasn't until close to a month ago after dealing with 6 consecutive months of this flare-up, that I really knew I needed to make changes.

It's been about three weeks of following a very strict dietary regimen, but I must say, my symptoms have certainly improved. I am not yet where I'd like to be, but just knowing that my body is getting the break it needs and is less reactive, is extremely encouraging.

___

A typical day of eating for me right now includes a lot of simple soups, bone broths, roasted chicken, fish, squash and other vegetables; my newest muse of cauliflower "rice" stir fry with beef and vegetables; sweet peas for a snack, zucchini "noodles" and lots of water and herbal teas (namely ginger, peppermint, or fennel). It can get repetitive but I can't say I'm sick of it just yet, in fact, I really quite enjoy the simplicity and ease of it all. It's really all very easy to prepare and I'm enjoying eating so many fresh ingredients.

If it seems like I'm not eating anything besides meat and vegetables, that's entirely the case. I am not eating fruit, nuts, dairy, legumes, grains or even starchy vegetables like potato. Restrictive? Absolutely. Am I feeling better because of it? Yup.

Restless

I had a productive day today, but a restless day. One of those can't-sit-still afternoons with the energy of a sloth, yet the desire to get up and do something stimulating. I felt trapped in my body; I didn't want to move and I had an insatiable appetite. I did go to the gym first thing this morning, however, which at least gave me some shimmer of satisfaction, if only a little bit.

Mostly though I sat at my computer and worked away: I responded to emails, edited videos and blog posts and photographs and thumbnails and procrastinated some along the way, too. I also ate half a bag of carrot chips, which are darn good, but perhaps not exactly something I should be eating half a bag of right now, what with all the sunflower oil and such. I also had my delicious sesame noodle bowl and an equally delicious cauliflower-rice stir fry.

Tomorrow I've a few things on my agenda: hop to the store to stock up on more carrots (a vegetable that is my entire life right now), fresh ginger, and chicken thighs. Soup is a very important part of my days as of late.

____

I'm feeling increasingly content with what God, or the Universe, or something has planned for me. Maybe what I have planned for me, I still don't know. But I do know that I can wish and dream and take action and make things happen, like I do, but still there's a path that is paved and I'm walking gracefully along it, knowing it leads to the perfect place where all of my visions are in a basket of fruition, waiting for me to grasp it.

half of my heart's got a grip on the situation,
half of my heart takes time.

Tales

I have to keep reminding myself that I am here, and not there; that it is today and not tomorrow, and that the stories I create are just that: a tale that my mind sings to itself on repeat, stirring a soup of emotions and fibs that do nothing but make my heart sticky and webbed and afraid.

I think I hate not knowing what the future holds, yet I can be so certain and so excited about the mystery of it all. Still, there is an unknown about it; a grey sheet that I can't see through. Thankfully it's up to us to decide what we want to imagine is beyond that sheet. Mostly I have pleasant thoughts; a vibrant imagination and my feet are eager. But I do suppose I am still just a girl with a mind as wild as any other, and I fear just as much as the next person.

Tomorrow I am going to do nothing but notice the sun, or perhaps the clouds before it; I will breathe in the autumn air that sweeps itself around me. I will chop leeks and dice cucumber as though it is the only thing that matters and I will remember that I am simply, simply, right here, right now.

Full and Sweet

I could tell you where I've been, and I could tell you where I now am. I can't say I know what's to come, but I do know it's good. It's full, and it's sweet.

I was taken by surprise for the second time in a row this week where I've been presented with a most dazzling opportunity. I can't help but feel so grateful that I chose the path I'm on: to live a passionate, ambitious life, regardless of whether or not others around me thought anything would come of it. I've not once let go of the vision I have for myself. I am looking right at it, face on, because many of the dreams I've dreamed are no longer dreams, but tangible real-life things that are now part of my story. I've a pocket full of many more dreams, and I am eagerly awaiting how they, too, will transpire.

Each day my life continues to turn and twist and shape into something so refreshingly what I need. I can't help but think about the unbearably tough decisions I have had to make, but also how if it weren't for those decisions that my very soul cried out for, I wouldn't be where I am now. Oh, to listen to our hearts.

Why is it that fear so often dictates our every move? Why is it that the truth of things struggle to be the forefront in our lives, and instead, remain under a pile of doubt, like laundry that we just don't want to do? Even when our heart is screaming and shouting and banging on doors, with crystal clear certainty, we still back away. We step down, we give in, and fear rises to the top only to place our very soul's most precious messages back inside of a dark box.

I'm happy I have risen above much of the fear I had in my life. Instead, I've forced myself to keep journeying through it, past it, beyond it, into what appears to now be a very bright world with hardly much of anything standing in my way.

lessons & reflection

Happy July :-) I love the change of a new month. It's the perfect time for new beginnings and to reflect on what was learned the previous month. Sharing, patience and taking a break are three themes that weaved through the month of June for me.

I feel as though when we share we actually receive so much. When we put forth abundance, we attract abundance in return. Not even materialistically speaking, but at a soul level; an inner level. Giving and sharing from the heart feels good. So I shared a bunch in June.

Patience crossed my path toward the end of the month. He's a darling friend and I admire those who naturally embody the cool, calm and collected. There were a handful of instances in which the Universe instructed me to wait. It's not time yet. It will come. It will manifest. Breathe. Be patient. Impatience erupts anger within me but I've been able to feel the fiery sensation for what it is, and let it pass. I know which shadows of mine are hiding beneath and stubbornly avoiding the light. It will come. It will come.

Taking a break. Oh yes, yes. Now this is a deep lesson, a freeing one, a good one. It has been the epitome of relief and release and revive. I'm still in it, I'm still cross legged, head tilted back, breathing in the warmth of the still and idle sunshine. My week spent up north in a fairy tale changed me. When it comes to words there is a void, so I've just sat in the hollowness and felt instead for feelings are the language of the Universe, after all. Regardless, my time away was healing and what I needed so perfectly. The freedom of expression, the authenticity, the slow, the calm, the breathing, the letting go. It is all so divinely etched into my being.

I'm settling into the freedom of my need for a break and time away. I have much to ponder and I'm allowing the change and transition to take its time. I am listening, listening, listening to the gentle nudges of my spirit and soul and attentively, trustingly stepping in their direction.

P.S. Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians.

vacillate

Scleranthus. To remedy my indecisiveness, to soothe my vacillating ways. I think I have a history of such a conflicted mind.

There is so much to figure out and I'm tired of going through those motions of pretending like there is confidence in a decision when underneath, I don't know. I'm not settled and I'm not sure. I'm not steady and I'm not secure. I don't know and I don't know and I don't know. Sometimes I just want to hide away, and maybe that's what I need. A time out. I'm still feeling my way through the dark woods, aren't we all?

I want to know. I yearn to know. I crave certainty. But there's far too much to figure out; far too much to heal; far too much unpredictability in prediction.

I'm breathing in the revelation that I don't need to have everything sorted out right now, because guess what? It's not sorted out. I don't know where I'll end up or when I'll be organized. And that's okay. It's all apart of this process of life: the good, the bad, the ugly, the wonderful is all found amidst the messy, messy Divine.

I just want to relax into the flow of things and halt my impatience, my eager tendency to rush and have it all done and calculated and put into perfect little boxes.

healing

I am feeling good these days! Did you know our digestive system and brain are very intricately connected?

Back in 2011 I suffered a bacterial infection causing me a hefty case of gastroenteritis. Since then I've struggled with a disturbing degree of all that encompasses a typical malfunctioning digestive system. Among a myriad of issues, I developed many food intolerances that if eaten, left me bloated with severe, stitching abdominal pains and a swelling sensation that would span the entire surface area of my intestinal tract.

Although the infection has since been dealt with, I still left with the aftermath.

Grains, sugar, legumes, lentils and dairy are the main foods I feel worst on. I can tolerate some organic goat cheese, however. The foods I thrive on are vegetables, all varieties of leafy greens, sea veggies, most fruits, meat, fish and good quality fats. Since I've eliminated grains from my diet I feel so. much. better. My digestive system is quiet and peaceful and things are just so much better for me.

I'm actually grateful that I've been faced with the need to refrain from eating grains because I have learned so much about not needing to consume them in the first place, regardless of whether or not I had a digestive catastrophe. I'll share more on that in the future, perhaps on my website's wellness blog. For now, I know how important it is that we listen to our body's valuable messages. We are extraordinarily wise! My eating habits have changed quite a bit over the past few years and although I wouldn't say I follow a vegetarian diet at this time like I used to, I will never stop putting an emphasis on eating an abundance of plant-based foods. They make up at least 3/4 of my meals (might I add, mashed sweet potato with cinnamon is DIVINE!) It's all about doing what's right for you.

In conjunction with eating simpler and nourishing my digestive tract through foods, I've also been taking a couple supplements to strengthen and support the integrity of my gut, too. These include Glutamine powder once a day (an amino acid -- a very important friend for strengthening our intestinal lining, among many other benefits) and probiotics. I take Genestra's HMF powder, one scoop, once in the morning. Managing my stress levels is a big deal for me also. I'm an anxious gal and anxiety + gut = enemies.

I have plans to do juice fasting once I figure out the appropriate time for it. I felt really good doing my small watermelon flush the other day, which consisted of just eating watermelon. Simplicity is key for a sensitive gut.

In health & healing...
Meghan :)

Solitary Space

Deep within there's a land of contemplation
limitless exploration
an archive of perception
a folder full of stories
awaiting realization

Last night I danced. Do you know the song Vienna by Billy Joel? I danced to that. That song reminds me so much of myself and my crazily rushed and impatient yet ambitious attitude.

"Slow down you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile but then if you're so smart, tell me why are you still so afraid?"

I am so many things. I'm an enthusiastic lover of life as well as a bottle of emotion, restlessness and worry. I think a lot. It felt so good to just let go and frolic about my own little world of free form flow and a mind full of nothing but the sound orchestrating my bones. I evaporate into a mist of healing when I'm in my solitary space. I threw my legs up into Viparita Karani and listened to the pleasant hum of Dallas Green's acoustic soul.

"Slow down you crazy child and take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while. It's alright, you can afford to lose a day or two."

If I really wanted to, I could...

Me, these days.
I don't know what it is but lately, late at night, I'm feeling just so inspired and creative! I want to share so many different things. I feel like I'm made of bubbles. I'm actually feeling ridiculously good these days. It's after midnight and I won't allow myself to sleep until I write.

I knew that after I completed my whirlwind-of-a-year of school, stress and other fun things, that I would really need to do some inner work. And I'm talkin' some real digging. Whilst roaming the small, crowded aisles of shelves and nooks of books and magic at my favourite local metaphysical shop, I spotted the book that I knew I would have to get at some point in my life: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. Sounds kind of cheesy but no, it's actually brilliant.

Although I'll refrain from going into too many details, the gist of it is quite simply cultivating self-love. Delving into the layers of your life, beneath all the long-held negative thought patterns and ridiculous beliefs that serve us no good; acknowledging them, understanding them, moving through them, releasing them. Finding that pure part of us that is free of fears and full of self-love. Oh and not to mention, the book is jam-packed with amazing affirmations.

The outline of the book is very similar to a Psychology of Disease class I took, an Energy Medicine course, which was very deep. Full of soul-searching, reconciling, healing...

One of the main things that has really stuck out at me is her exercise on the word should. It's genius, and I totally agree. Using the word "should" is very limiting. In the words of Louise, using the word should means we either "are wrong or we were wrong or we are going to be wrong". Screw that. Instead of "I should..." it's all about this:

If I really wanted to, I could...

Because you see, could gives us choice. It was very powerful for me when I made a list of all the things I thought I "should" do in order to be or feel a certain way. By replacing it with "if I really wanted to, I COULD do this or that to be or feel this or that", it opens up a whole new world of understanding that we wholly choose what we want to think, feel and do.

Wanna know what's also cool? If we really want to, we really can. Cause guess what? We live in a Universe of infinite possibilities.

I really should be sleeping now. Away I go!

yin & yang

Challenges come at us from all different directions
even when we aren't prepared
we are offered a chance to grow
to see ourselves in a new light
to view our most cherished treasures from a new perspective
to focus harder, to walk stronger, to be braver.

I'm a pretty feminine girl. But every time I go through a really tough situation I always seem to unintentionally opt for jeans and sneakers and a firm, impervious attitude along with it. I was thinking about this the other day, how I tend to express myself externally based on how I am feeling internally. And although I don't mean to draw any stereotypical lines here, I literally unite with my masculine side when I'm feeling really bruised.

But I like it. That's how I've been feeling lately. Really tough and nonchalant. Though I'm beginning to soften again and actually the colour pink has been my newest muse these days. For the longest time I detested the colour pink. After I awoke spiritually I felt as though pink emanated a superficial, materialistic vibe, of which I was vehemently straying from. But I have been finding myself open up to it again as I actually feel rather pleasant and pretty when I'm exposed to it. I've been really wanting more colour in my life as I don't wear much vibrancy, but I don't do well in bright, bold colours. I feel best in earthy, soft tones and patterns. For the longest time I wore mostly black and gray (that's my capricorn-ness), but I've learned the importance of exposing yourself to certain colours, especially within the chakra teachings, so as to activate different energies.

I've been thinkin' about how. How things manifest in our lives even when we are deeply doubtful. How often we question, "How will this work out? How will this happen? How will this get better? I just don't see how". We can never really ever know how things in life will unfold. Logistically speaking, yes, we can plan and figure out and organize but when it really comes down to it, we can never really know every minute detail that will take place in any given situation. I think it's really important that we refrain from asking how so much. Sometimes it forms a barrier - we don't see or believe how things could possibly happen or how something in our life could possibly manifest and in turn refrain from going forward. If we just relax, stop questioning, recognize that we don't and can't always have all the answers, and just let life flow and unravel, all of the "hows" will happen.

Twenty One

Birthday girl, Jan 10/2012
Today I turned 21 years old. Feels youthfully ripe, seasoned and sophisticated. I am calmly and pleasantly awaiting what will fall into place for me this year. I feel like each year is bursting with blank pages for new stories of opportunities, experiences and lessons. Even since my last birthday, I have evolved so much.

Today I am just very grateful and thankful for all of the birthday wishes I have received.

It feels as though I am and have been entering a new era. And according to the teachings in my chakra handbook, I have indeed entered a new "theme". We have 7 main chakras and in my book it says that, essentially, we go through cycles of human development and every 7 years beginning from birth we enter a new base theme, starting with root up to crown (and you always view your age as one year ahead, so as to count our time in the womb). Within those 7 year cycles, each individual year is comprised of an individual main theme, from root to crown.

This is somewhat complicated to explain (as you really need to view the chart) but my main point is that I have just completed a 7 year cycle (began when I was 15 years old... and had done two 7 year cycles before that: from age 1-7 then a new cycle from 8-14). The cycle I just completed pertains to the qualities of the solar plexus chakra (third chakra... third cycle). This solar plexus 7-year base theme symbolizes "unfolding ones' personality; assimilation of feelings and experiences; shaping one's being; influence and power; strength and abundance and wisdom growing out of experience". Within that main theme, I just completed the last part of the cycle, the crown chakra, which denotes "enlightenment through inner contemplation; unity with the omnipresent being and universal consciousness". These themes are unbelievably accurate to how my life has developed over the past several years. Especially the aspect of inner contemplation, unity and the general shaping of my being.

So this new year that I have been entering is the 4th cycle in my life, the base theme of the heart chakra which denotes "unfolding the qualities of the heart; love, compassion, sharing, sincere involvement, selflessness, devotion and healing". Within that general 7-year theme, since I am in my first year of this brand new theme, this year I am back at the base - the root chakra. This fundamental theme denotes "primordial life energy and trust; relationship to the earth and the material world; stability and power to achieve". This primordial motif feels very akin to how I have been sensing myself becoming more grounded again since I have flown into the wild airs of spirituality. I have definitely found myself seeking some ground, with new feet... ;-) Though next year this inner motif will be under the (second) sacral chakra, and so on. My next new (fifth) cycle starts when I am 29.

I find it so fitting how I am now in the theme of the heart - compassion, love and selflessness - for this is precisely what my life has been preparing for over the past 6 weeks. As I have just taken a trip into the depths of my soul, unveiling and healing negative thought patterns, beliefs, attitudes and underlying emotions, it is compassion and love that has been my most predominant goal. I kid you not. I find it very neat that it is that theme that I have been inevitably entering and will be cultivating over the next several years...

Some interesting points from my book on this subject of human development cycles:
  • A change takes place on a material level every seven years ... It is a biological fact that our bodies renew themselves every seven years (all our bodies cells have been replaced by new ones - biologically speaking, we are an entirely new person).
  • After seven cycles we have reached the middle of our lives (age 49) and have completed an entire cycle. A completely new stage of life begins with our 50th birthday ... a chance to start all over again but this time from a "higher octave" of development.
  • In ages past, the number 7 was used to denote completion, abundance and (spiritual) perfection. Many cultures regard it as a sacred number
  • And P.S., 7 is my favourite number (mysteriously, though, because I don't really know why - there's just something about this number that I am drawn to)

Hibernation & Introspection

So here I am I suppose, below zero temperatures that leave me at my laziest. Minus ten today and I can feel myself preparing for hibernation. This is the first year where I'm really viewing the winter season as a time to hide, contract and vegetate. I really don't have much of an interest for this season, only when the snow falls fresh and all is enchanted. I enthusiastically decided last week that I will make a snowman this year. I guess the only best part about winter is snowstorms, though once my birthday passes all becomes rigid and messy and last week I got ice-wind burn on my cheeks when I walked to the store.

My favourite food right now is soft boiled carrots. I just ate an entire bowl of about five of them. Thick soups, rice and tea is all I want these days and it really is befitting for how a human would respond to such weather. I just want to curl up in a ball of fleece and flannel and read a book. It really isn't natural to be living in this part of the world I'm sure, for we'd die if it weren't for these houses. I want to live in a mild geographic location with more forest and mountains and bodies of water. Now how did I get on the topic of urbanization...? I despise it so, and I just recalled now a dream I had last night of a dear nature conservancy in my town that got demolished for a sports recreation center. What? I think I woke up really angry.

I am on holidays for one more week and I am just finishing up my last introspective piece for my Psychology of Disease class, an energy medicine course. Man this has been a very deep journey and I am just rounding up the finishing edges on what chakras of mine are imbalanced, why and what corresponding organs are being affected. So the journey continues - on to more healing!

Walks and Talks

0042-1.jpg

As always
walks in the rain are mandatory for the peace it brings,
except this time damp colourful leaves are everywhere.
I wish there was a way for me to meticulously describe my bike ride atop a cliff yesterday,
but there is not!

A couple weeks ago on my daily 40 minute drive to school I accidentally came across the best radio station that ever came to be (in Toronto it's 89.5fm, but it's worldwide). They host a one hour radio series from 9-10am that has a different episode every day ranging from all sorts of incredible topics from corporate America, globalization, today's environmental, food and health crises to science and spirituality and solutions to the absurdly and ridiculously frustrating distorted world we currently live in due to the powers that be. The radio series is called Bioneers (biological pioneers!) All of this is actually specifically what has been bothering me a lot lately. A lot.

At the introduction to the episodes there is a clip of a woman doing a lecture saying "...it's all connected, it's all intelligence, it's all relatives" while geese are sounding in the background and everytime it plays this clip I cry. Every morning I am literally crying on my way to school. It certainly puts a bit of a damper on my morning but I can't not listen - there is such an enormous amount of invaluable information to be heard and it is very significant for everybody to listen. Agh! Everything is just so messed up and everything is connected and I hate this apparent universal ignorance that has washed over humanity but I know people can awaken to it all and I hope so badly that things will change and all of the corporations that are in power over everything (like Monsanto, for one small example) will be shut down. Ultimately, I wish for that. I feel as though this is what a big part or meaning of my life is all about - changing the current world we inhabit, someway, somehow. I know it begins with the collective minds. Perspectives and attitudes must be adjusted into the direction of supporting and connecting with nature and ourselves, first. I feel like I know what so many of the answers are and everything that I would do if I could do it would make so much sense but the scope of the world is so large and I feel so small.

Anyways, do check out the radio series which I believe you can find and listen to on their website, or perhaps the conference itself from which it originates. www.bioneers.org.

Seriously Awesome Green Soup

I have been posting so many recipes on here lately, but what can I say? I'm in the midst of some healing and cleansing with raw foods and I've been swimming around in some super fun recipes that I simply must share.
I made this soup many, many months ago around the time that I was new to raw foods. I'm sure I used a couple different ingredients back then because today I just used what I had on hand. Though the beauty with not only this recipe but so many raw recipes is that you can modify them very easily.

All there is to do is throw into a blender a few stalks celery, 1/2 cucumber, a tomato, few large kale leaves, some spinach, juice of 1/2 lemon, pinch of salt (I use Himalayan), 2 spoonfuls of light miso paste (fermented soybeans - If you don't have miso you can just use a bit more salt. I'm actually quite sensitive to soy so I don't eat soy products often... in fact next time I think I'll exclude the miso) and lastly 1/2 an avocado. You'll want to blend the avocado last, after everything else is blended, because you want to avoid over-blending it in order to maintain the amazing green colour and proper flavour.

You can also throw in some basil or cayenne pepper or anything else that seems appealing. Afterwards I sprinkled on some nutritional yeast, so that's a flavourful option as well. This soup is honestly very good. The thickness and creaminess that the avocado adds makes it so incredibly savory and just scrumptious... scrumptious indeed. This makes enough for about 2 people, or one giant serving :)

The most important ingredient you'll want to make sure you add in order for this to turn out perfectly is a whole bunch of love and stuff.

I really like the song Sister Golden Hair by America.

LOVE on a hot day

Green juice!

Ello!

I wanted to share some things I made today that was so nice and refreshing for this almost-unbearably hot, humid, sticky 40+ degree weather that is making me feel like I'm made of double-sided tape.

Green juice! ~
  • 1 full large bunch of kale
  • 4-5 stalks celery
  • 6 carrots
  • 2 green apples
  • small bunch of fresh dill.
And the best part... raw vegan banana ice cream!

Raw vegan ice-cream!

I have been wanting to try out this magnificent loveliness, and that I did. I have most definitely discovered my new favourite sweet treat that feels like I'm eating the most decadent, thick, creamy dessert except it's just frozen bananas. SoOoOo what you're gonna do is take a couple ripe bananas, peel em' and stick'em in the freezer. Once they're hard as a rock you're gonna throw those bad boys into a blender, maybe splash a bit o' water in there or some almond milk (which I did today, yummo!) and blend those babies right up. And it turns into this thick, icy icy icy delicious scrumptious dreamy creamy texture full of love and delight. You could even add a spoonful of raw cacao to make it chocolatey, or some berries to make it berry-flavoured. Or almond butter or peanut butter or coconut or ANYTHING! Take a walk on the wild side with this one man.

So that is that!

Ground & Release

Yesterday I had a very exciting EPFX quantum bio-feedback session with the wonderful Leija Turunen (www.youtube.com/leijaturunen). I'm not even going to attempt to explain how this device works, it involves quantum physics and it's complicated to say the least. But essentially, it's able to tune into your individual self and detect anything from nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivites, to emotional and mental imbalances and energetic/spiritual blocks. It's very specific to you! It also is able to see your aura and chakras!!

One of the main things it picked up for me was stress, particularly related to daily frustrations (i.e. work... I've had a ton of stress and frustration revolving around my current work situation). It picked up the imbalance in the back of my neck, as I had a concussion a year ago which resulted in neck problems. Along with so many other super cool things, it picked up that I would benefit from more B vitamins, more foods containing sulfur (broccoli, brussel sprouts), chamomile tea, cayenne pepper, the list goes on! I am sensitive to beer, cooked vegetable oil and cow hair ;). Oh also my kidneys need a good cleansing! I could go on forever about the things this device detects for you but I suppose the main things were that I need more grounding, connecting with nature, relaxation and oxygen (like cardio).

The coolest part was how the device is able to "clear" your blocks and imbalances... and today I can definitely feel some release happening. I've noticed a tremendous inclination to bond with nature, more than usual. Hence why I went for a long walk today and sat barefoot on the grass absorbing the energy from the sun! I feel good.

Leija gave me a few samples of some extremely delicious smelling herbal teas as well as a few spoonfuls of chlorella! I put some of that in my smoothie today and danced around my room. My favourite thing to do to boost my mood and get some cardio without even noticing.

Ahhh here's the cool picture of my aura!! You can see the aura goes outside the lines, meaning it is powerful!

Healing your Creativity

Stones I painted yesterday

The stone painted youth was from when I was a child. The word seemed suitable and represents how each and everyone of us, regardless of age, possess some form of youth. The freedom stone I found by the lake I live right by (Lake Ontario to be exact) and when I picked it up I just automatically thought of freedom. We are all free.

My most recent lesson I did for my e-course consisted of "healing" our creativity, or getting "unstuck" from a creative rut:

What would happen if everything I wanted was open and available to me?
I think it would be a good thing in some ways that all the things I'm passionate about would be so attainable... however I would be missing that sense of challenge and true achievement. As well, since it would all be available, I'd come up with all kinds of other things to reach for and if they were also so readily available then there would be no excitement. There's bliss, learning, growing and healing inside of every challenge and every journey.

What would happen if I believed in myself, fully and completely?
I would be a lot more willing to do the things I desire deep down. I wouldn't worry so much. I'd open my arms to failure rather than shy away.

What kind of creative dream fire could I ignite if I was given a spark of positive energy?
Inspiration to be fearless.

Heal your creativity :)
